An early 20th-century oak wardrobe by Maple & Co., constructed in the Arts and Crafts tradition with a focus on solid timber and restrained ornament. The upper section is defined by a deep projecting cornice supported by a series of shaped brackets, giving a strong architectural presence. This large Arts and Crafts wardrobe by Maple & Co dates from around 1910 and is made from warm brown oak with brass hardware and glass. The piece stands 221 cm high, 207 cm wide, and 67 cm deep. The upper section has a deep projecting cornice supported by corbelled brackets above a central arched mirror door flanked by two side doors with stylised floral inlay and mother-of-pearl detail in the top panels. Below the doors sit two full-width drawers fitted with round drop handles. The timber shows visible grain patterns and natural colour variation throughout.
