All drawers have turned wooden knobs, with some retaining brass escutcheons. Very pleasing proportions, and a practical piece that demonstrates the craftsmanship of Welsh country furniture of the period.
Item Reference:
M-6516
Dimensions:
Height – 109cm / Width – 108.5cm / Depth – 51cm
CONDITION REPORT:
In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks and scratches throughout the piece. Age related shrinkage to the planks to the top and sides, but the piece remains structurally solid and sound with all drawers running smoothly. The chest has missing escutcheons and key to central drawer is not functioning but acts as a handle. Historic repair to the back right top of the piece. Evidence of historic woodworm, mainly to drawer linings but this is long gone and treated as a precaution. Overall a handsome example.
