A chanteh is a traditional small storage bag or container woven by nomadic and tribal groups, typically used for carrying personal items, documents, or valuables.

These pieces are traditionally crafted from handspun sheeps wool, often utilising natural plant and insect-based dyes for the coloration.

Authenticity is assessed through the irregular handspun yarns, natural dye variations, tight weave structure, and traditional tribal iconography characteristic of a specific weaving region.

Such textiles can be mounted and framed as wall art, displayed flat on a surface, or repurposed as small decorative pillows to introduce rich texture and heritage into a space.

Preservation involves keeping the textile out of direct sunlight to prevent fading, avoiding excessive moisture, and gently vacuuming with low suction through a mesh screen.
