FAQs

Antique brass beds gained immense popularity during the Victorian and Edwardian eras, largely replacing wooden frames due to advancements in metallurgy and sanitary concerns.

These pieces typically feature solid brass tubing or heavy brass plating over iron cores, joined with cast iron fittings and secured by robust side rails.

Authenticity is indicated by weight, natural patination, hand-finished joints, and specific manufacturer stamps or registration numbers often found on the iron rails.

Pairing the metallic warmth of the frame with crisp white linens and neutral textiles creates a balanced focal point in contemporary or traditional bedrooms.

Maintenance involves gentle dusting with a soft cloth and avoiding harsh chemical polishes to preserve the natural oxidisation and historical patina.
