Classical figurative sculptures often depict mythological or historical narratives, reflecting the artistic techniques and cultural values of their period of production.

These pieces are typically produced using the lost-wax casting technique, utilising copper alloys known as bronze, often finished with various patinas to enhance surface detail.

Authenticity is determined by examining casting seams, the quality of the chasing work, the depth and stability of the natural patina, and any foundry marks or signatures.

They provide a focal point when placed on mantels, sideboards, or dedicated pedestals, contrasting well with clean modern lines and neutral palettes.

Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth and avoid chemical cleaners or abrasive polishes that can strip the protective historical patina.
