FAQs

Art Deco bronze sculpture emerged during the 1920s and 1930s, heavily influenced by modernist aesthetics, sleek lines, and a fascination with exoticism, wildlife, and the human form.

These pieces were typically cast using the traditional lost-wax method (cire perdue), utilising copper-alloy bronze finished with various patinas, ranging from deep green to dark brown.

Authentic period pieces exhibit age-appropriate patination, crisp casting details free from modern pitting, and often carry foundry marks, artist signatures, or cold-painted finishes consistent with early 20th-century production.

Such sculptures serve as strong focal points when placed upon a mantelpiece, sideboard, or executive desk, complementing geometric motifs and rich, textural materials like marble and dark wood.

Bronze should be kept out of direct sunlight and high humidity, dusting gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth without applying commercial polishes or abrasives that could strip the original patina.
