Art Deco animalier sculpture, prominent during the 1920s and 1930s, focuses on sleek lines, stylised forms, and capturing the dynamic movement and raw power of wild animals.

These pieces were typically cast using the lost-wax method (cire perdue) from bronze or spelter alloys, often mounted on contrasting plinths of carved marble or onyx.

Authentic period pieces exhibit natural patination, fine channelling and chisel work from hand-finishing, and weight appropriate to solid cast metal rather than lightweight resin.

Position the piece on a clean-lined surface such as a mahogany sideboard, mantelpiece, or executive desk to highlight its architectural silhouette and metallic texture.

Dust gently with a soft, dry microfibre cloth and avoid harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive polishes that can strip the original patina and damage the stone base.
