A prayer rug is a small hand-knotted or flatwoven rug with a pointed niche at one end of the field, laid down and turned toward Mecca for the daily prayers.
Woven dates are rare, and one Ladik weaver clearly wanted hers remembered: 1285, or 1868, appears three times in the same rug.
