We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

This nineteenth-century Chinese Qing Dynasty sideboard acts as a console table or storage unit in the home, suitable for placement in a dining room or hallway. Produced in the nineteenth century, the piece is made from hardwood with a dark brown lacquered finish and brass hardware. The table measures 91 cm high, 204 cm wide, and 45 cm deep. Visible details include a panel top with everted flanges, three drawers fitted with brass ring pulls, and a carved apron decorated with shell motifs. The framework stands on four cabriole legs terminating in scrolled feet. Condition notes include minor wear to the lacquer work and minor expected shrinkage to the top surface, leaving the item ready for everyday use.

Originally created for displaying family ancestral tablets, incense, and ceremonial offerings, these narrow tables were key structural elements in traditional Chinese residences during the Ming and Qing dynasties.

Crafted from dense hardwoods such as elm or rosewood, these items utilise mortise-and-tenon joinery built without metal nails, finished with multiple hand-applied coats of natural tree lacquer.

Authentic period tables demonstrate natural age-related wear, hand-carved joinery variations, oxidisation on metal fittings, and subtle craquelure in the lacquer surface rather than uniform modern finishes.

Positioned in an entrance hall, corridor, or behind a modern sofa, the table provides structural contrast against modern walls and serves as a display surface for lamps and ceramics.

Keep the timber away from direct heat sources and extreme humidity shifts, dusting gently with a dry soft cloth while avoiding harsh chemical spray cleaners.
