Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Mut kilims are traditional flatweave rugs hand-woven by tribal weavers in the Mut region of southern Anatolia, Turkey. They are recognised for their horizontal banding, geometric medallions, and distinct slit-weave construction.

Anatolian kilims are crafted using hand-spun sheep wool for both the warp and weft threads. The wool is dyed using vegetable and organic compounds derived from plants, roots, and minerals.

Authentic nineteenth-century kilims display subtle colour variations known as abrash caused by hand-dyed wool batches, slit-weave gaps along vertical colour transitions, and slight asymmetrical irregularities inherent to hand-loom weaving.

A tribal kilim rug can be placed on hardwood or polished concrete floors to introduce texture and pattern. It works effectively as a focal point in minimalist spaces or layered over neutral sisal carpets in contemporary homes.

Vacuum the rug regularly using suction only without a rotating beater bar to avoid pulling fibers. Use a high-quality rug pad underneath to prevent slipping and wear, and consult a professional textile cleaner for stain removal.
