Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Georgian Revival chests of drawers replicate 18th-century English designs, characterised by balanced proportions, symmetrical drawer arrangements, and high-quality timber such as mahogany or walnut. Features often include canted corners, bracket feet, and brass swan-neck drop handles.

These chests feature solid mahogany frames or secondary timbers faced with figured mahogany or flame mahogany veneers. Drawer interiors are often made from oak or pine, joined with hand-cut dovetails and fitted with solid brass hardware.

Authentic maker pieces often feature stamped signatures, brass plaques, or paper labels on the top drawer lining or upper back panel. High-grade construction details, such as precise dovetailing, smooth drawer runners, and premium veneer matching, also indicate workshop quality.

Position the chest against a neutral or contemporary wall colour to highlight the warm wood tones. Style the top surface with understated modern ceramics, framed artwork, or a contemporary table lamp to create visual contrast.

Dust regularly with a dry, soft microfibre cloth following the wood grain. Apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year, and keep the furniture away from direct heat sources and direct sunlight to prevent drying or fading.
