Bureau Desk Very Rare Norfolk Wells George II Oak C1740

Here we have a very rare Norfolk Wells Oak bureau George II c1740. As you can see the bureau has great colour and patina. The bureau is labelled Wells March 88 and was formerly in Catesby Court Wells Next The Sea Norfolk. The unusual layout of the bureau is akin to Catesby being a merchant house. Unusual for anywhere else but we have seen one other bureau in Norfolk of this design and this is undoubtedly of the same hand. There is a slope front with central fielded panel. This opens to reveal a fully fitted interior with central cupboard and two internal small drawers. There are two secret drawers and a sliding top well. Below there is an arrangement of three short drawers with original brass swan neck handles and flanking cupboards. The cupboards have fielded panels and the whole sits on bracket feet. A super rare bureau in great retail condition ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 100 cm high 97 cm wide 50 cm deep.
