Here is an enormous lidded copper pitcher acquired from an estate sale in Scotland and collected on travels presumably in the Middle East sometime during the 19th Century.
The pitcher stands 46cm tall and 26cm across its widest part and has a wonderful rich, warm patina, (and undoubtedly has some wonderful rich stories to go along with it!) It is in great condition, with all the surface wear you would expect from a well loved piece of this age, but which of course adds to its charm.
The lid has an anthropomorphic design with a pair of eyes staring out from the back, and also has a makers crest or mark to the top, with a large ''x'' incised on the bottom.
A rare and unique shape, I have scoured the internet and not found any similar - this is a real statement piece and would look great in any home.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch if I can provide any further images or information.
I offer free delivery to mainland UK, and am more than happy to help with quotes for shipping abroad
