19th Century French Ebony and Kingwood Secrétaire

Description

An amazing 19th century French secrétaire constructed in finest quality ebony and kingwood. The top having a moulded edge with two moulded, panelled drawers below. A further two panels below replicate the drawers above to create a fall, with leather writing surface and a cupboard door below that.

A cantilevered fall front, opens to reveal three unusually shaped, oak lined drawers and storage space. The base of the cabinet features a large door, which opens to reveal storage space with one shelf. The secrétaire is further configured with a matching panelled base, standing on short turned feet.

An extremely functional secrétaire/cabinet. The whole design of geometric lines make it an ideal item for a contemporary interior. Circa 1840.
