A charming 18th century George III solid oak bureau cabinet/bookcase.
c1770.
This is over a chest of five graduating solid oak drawers of dove-tail construction.

The top section has two doors having fielded panelled fronts, with ornate brass escutcheons to the right door. With a moulded cornice above. The doors open to reveal a two adjustable shelved interior.

The bookcase has developed a wonderful rich colour and characterful patina, which simply glows.
Standing on bracket feet.
In excellent antique condition, with expected general signs of age and use. Minor historical repair to the front of the top drawer. Replacement handles, stylistically correct.

The top can be removed from the bureau section.
Solid, sturdy and strong.
The dimensions are taken at highest, widest and deepest points.
