Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Miniature portrait paintings are small-scale artworks that gained popularity in Europe from the 16th century onwards, often depicting individuals, historical figures, or allegorical characters in fine detail.

These works typically utilised watercolour or gouache on paper, card, vellum, or ivory, often embellished with gold leaf or metallic paint and housed within glass-fronted wooden frames.

Authentic pieces display fine hand brushwork visible under magnification, natural age toning to the paper substrate, hand-applied gilding, and period-correct mounting materials.

Small oval portraits function effectively as part of a gallery wall, positioned in narrow spaces between windows, or placed on an easel display within a bookcase.

Display the artwork away from direct sunlight and areas of high humidity, ensure it remains mounted under protective glass, and dust the frame gently with a dry microfibre cloth.
