Beautiful Miniature Painting Musicians in Woodland After Boucher

Description

This is a delightful, original painting after Francois Boucher in its original high quality gilt bronze ormolu frame dating from around 1890. The painting is in bold gouache colours and depicts a musical troop in beautiful woodland setting. The easel frame is a heavy gilt bronze ormolu with attractive Regency style crest with torch and quiver of arrows.

Francois Boucher (1703-1770) was a French painter, etcher and draughtsman who famously worked in the Rococo style. He is well renowned for his idyllic and voluptuous paintings on classical themes, decorative allegories and pastoral scenes. He was perhaps the most celebrated painter and decorative artist of the 18th century.

This beautiful painting is one of eight good miniatures we currently have listed from the same collection.

This painting measures 14 cms by 10 cms with the image being 10 cms by 8 cms.
