Antique Georgian Regency Mahogany Secretaire Bookcase C1800 Wdb6077/8.11

Superb quality antique regency mahogany secretaire bookcase and dating from aorund 1800. It has a cornice top with cross banded mahogany frieze with fine ebony inlay above two glazed doors with brass divider and with three adjustable shelves. The base has a reeded edge to the top above a long secretaire drawer with original lion mask handles and with fine ebony stringing to the cross banded edge. The drawer folds down to reveal a lovely mahogany interior comprising of six pigeon holes with shaped frieze above an open compartment and to each side there are four small drawers and a green baise writing surface. There are two panelled doors to the base with cross banded edges and a brass divider and internally there is a double section sliding tray. It stands on a plinth base and the top separates for ease of transporting.

In very good condition and of quality mahogany with lovely deep colour and patination and oozing the charm and character of the georgian regency period.
