George II Style Figured Walnut Bureau Bookcase

1900 - 1920
Description

Circa 1920. George II style neat-sized figured walnut bureau bookcase. Surmounted by double arch, moulded cornice above two astragal glazed doors opening to shelved interior. The bureau flap with crossbanding, herringbone inlay and engraved brass escutcheon, opening to lovely fitted interior with a well, stepped drawers, secret compartments within Corinthian pillars and cupboard. With three graduated drawers with mirror matched walnut fronts and cast brass engraved brass handles, all supported on a moulded base and shaped bracket feet.
