Archival Detail
Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Mina Khana pattern is a iconic Persian motif characterized by a repeating grid or diamond lattice enclosing stylized, circular flower heads connected by delicate vines. Historically favoured by Kurdish and Veramin weavers, this continuous pattern creates a balanced and harmonious design across the field of the rug.

Traditional Kurdish runners were hand-knotted using locally sourced hand-spun sheeps wool for the pile, often bound to a sturdy cotton or wool warp foundation. The rich navy, terracotta, and ivory shades were produced using natural plant and mineral dyes, such as madder root and indigo.

Authentic hand-knotted pieces feature subtle variations in weave density and slight colour shifts, known as abrash, caused by hand-dyed wool batches. Examining the back of the rug reveals distinct knot structures and hand-overcast selvedges rather than machine stitching.

A narrow runner is suited for anchoring long entryways, corridors, or dark hallways, providing warmth and acoustic dampening. It contrasts effectively against dark timber floorboards or flagstone tiling, pairing well with understated modern or classic country furniture.

Regular vacuuming using a suction-only setting without a rotating beater bar prevents fibre damage. To ensure even wear in high-footfall areas, rotate the runner periodically and place a high-quality non-slip underlay beneath it to stabilize the weave.
