Antique Georgian Mahogany Bookcase Bureau C1780 Wdb280/7.7

Description

Antique george 111 mahogany bureau bookcase and dating from around 1780. It has a cornice top with mahogany frieze above two astragal glazed doors with brass handle and with three adjustable shelves. The fall front has a brass escutcheon and opens to reveal a very nice interior with central letter rack above a small drawer with four drawers to either side with original small knob handles. It has a later leather writing surface. To the base there are four long and graduating drawers all of which are pine lined and with original brass handles and escutcheons. It is moulded to the base and stands on bracket feet.

A very nice georgian mahogany bureau bookcase in very good condition with a lovely deep colour and patination to the mahogany oozing the charm and character of the georgian period.

Measures: 78" high X knee height to bureau writing surface 28" X 19" deep X internal depth (top) 8.3/4" X 37" wide
