Antique Georgian Oak Bureau Bookcase C1780 Wdb4822/9.6

18th century
Description

Lovely antique george 111 oak bureau bookcase and dating from around 1780. It has a cornice top with oak frieze and above two glazed doors with working key and two internal adjustable shelves. It has a fall front with brass escutcheon which opens to reveal a very nice oak interior with a central arched panelled door with larger pigeon hole to either side topped with a carved frieze. To either side of which there are two further pigeon holes with carved frieze abovetwo small drawers.

To the base there are two short drawers over three long drawers all of which are oak lined and with brass handles and escutcheons. It is moulded to the base and stands on lovely bracket feet.

The top separates from the base for ease of transporting.

In very good condition with a lovely nut brown colour and patintion to the oak and measures:

79" high X height to top of base 43" X knee height 29" X 20.5" deep X internal depth (top) 8.5" X 38" wide
