Antique South German Inlaid Walnut Bureau

Description

Circa 1790, South German inlaid walnut bureau. With heavy cross-banding and inlaid panels to the top in a cartouche shaped pattern, over a configuration of 3 drawers. With large inlaid flap in a similar pattern, with unusual pull out lopers with small knob handles. The drawers designed with various raised and curved sections and with engraved escutcheons and swan neck handles with engraved backplates. Beneath is a cross-banded, shaped moulding and all standing on shaped bun feet.
