Pair of large early 19th century bronze Indo-Persian Lions,c1820. These are fine examples beautifully cast ,with great shape and form. They are very heavy for their size with the pair weighing nearly 10kg. They have aged well with great colour/patina. Overall condition is good .One has a hole on its head which is original to the casting and the other does not. Whether this is to differentiate male from female or for incense I am not sure but it definitely looks to be an original feature rather than later addition? There may have been a repair to one of the bases but all very minor and as you would expect from pieces of this age.
