Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

This Victorian Country pine dresser is in two sections comprising an upper plate rack and a lower base unit. The timber exhibits a warm natural pine colour with a visible grain throughout. The top section incorporates fixed shelves against a tongue and groove boarded backing beneath a scalloped top apron, while the base unit contains two banks of three drawers, a central drawer, and a central cupboard. Details include rounded wooden knobs on each drawer and door, moulded edges along the work surface, and rounded bun feet supporting the structure. Dimensions are 194 cm high, 147 cm wide, and 57 cm deep. In a contemporary home, this piece suits a rustic farmhouse kitchen or dining room as a storage and display unit for crockery and glassware. The lower base section can also be used independently as a standalone sideboard or cabinet surface.

A traditional Welsh dresser, or kitchen dresser, emerged in the 18th and 19th centuries as a functional combination of a lower storage sideboard and an upper open rack designed for displaying ceramics and tableware in rural homes.

Traditional dressers were constructed using solid Scots pine or pitch pine, often assembled with hand-cut dovetail joints, tongue-and-groove rear panelling, turned wooden knobs, and a two-part separable frame for transport.

Authentic period dressers show age-consistent timber shrinkage, original iron or early steel hardware fittings, irregular hand-planed backboards, and authentic wear patterns on shelf edges and drawer runners.

A pine dresser can be styled by pairing its warm timber tones with contemporary neutral ceramics, clear glassware, or folded linens to create a balanced mix of traditional utility and modern simplicity.

Maintain the timber by dusting regularly with a soft, dry cloth and applying a clear beeswax paste once or twice a year, taking care to avoid harsh liquid chemicals or excess moisture.
