Description
18th Century walnut and feather banded bureau, having a lovely figured fall which open to reveal a wonderful fitted interior consisting of various drawers and compartments, including a cupboard door at the centre which opens to include a secret drawer, a brown leather writing surface decorated with blind and gold tooling, the bureau having four oak lined graduated drawers with brass plate handles and escutcheons, the drawer fronts having feather banded inlay, standing on shaped bracket feet. Circa 1770. 36” x 20” x 40” high 92cms x 51cms x 102cms high Martlesham Antiques is a family run business and has been trading since 1984. Specialising in 18th and 19th Century furniture, together with creating custom hand-made furniture which is supplied to various interior designers, trade and the retail market. Every piece on the showroom floor is in excellent condition and ready to go straight into the buyers home or premises. All of Martlesham Antiques furniture is hand polished by their own French polishers and restorers to a very high standard. We are also a member of LAPADA, the association of art and antiques.
