Antique Georgian Mahogany Bureau Bookcase C1780 Wdb4671/24.4

Quality antique george 111 mahogany bureau bookcase and dating form aorund 1780. Constructed from quality mahogany it has a low cornice top above two shaped panelled doors with brass escutcheons and original knob handles. Internally there adjustable shelves with cental divide above a row of pigeon holes. The fall front has a brass escutcheon and opens to reveal a further row of pigeon holes with arched frieze above three small drawers either side of one long drawer and with a green baise writing surface that has some usage wear. To the base there are three small drawers above three long graduating drawers all of which are oak lined and with later brass handles. It is moulded to the base and stands on ogee bracket feet.

This is a lovely antique georgian mahogany bureau bookcase of quality mahogany and in very good condition (there is a slight grain line to the left hand panel door but this is due to age and in no way detracts from the bookcase and we are only mentioning it for the sake of accuracy). It has a lovely deep colour and patination to the mahogany and oozes the charm and the character of the georgian period.
