Mid 18th Century Cuban Mahogany Bureau

Description

A good mid 18th century (George II) ‘Cuban mahogany’ Bureau with well fitted interior comprising a central cupboard, 2 x secret drawers, 6 x brass handled drawers and 6 x pigeon-holes.

The folding writing surface is of figured Cuban mahogany with original brass hinges and lock (with key).

Below are five further drawers, 2 x short and 3 full-width graduating drawers, all with original brass handles, locks and escutcheons. Supported on ogee feet.

Dated:  c.1740-60
