Early 19th Century Dutch Marquetry Bureau

19th century
Description

Super quality and condition early 19th century Dutch marquetry and inlaid bureau with the most fabulous rich original colour tones and patina, circa 1800.

Fabulous marquetry throughout the bureau and also the band of inlays certainly make for a super decorative and statement piece of furniture.

The shaped bureau lid opens with pull out supports to reveal eight drawers, the central door, flanked by sliding bookend style secret document drawers and two large pigeon holes. Also, below the bureau section there is a full width drawer for further storage.

Standing on shaped cabriole style legs and the bureau splits into two parts for ease of moving.

The bureau retains its two working locks and there is a working key too.

Fabulous piece and in great condition. Whether you are looking for a bureau for use or a decorative piece of furniture to fill a space, this could be a great option!

We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
