This Regency country house sideboard is made from dark brown mahogany with striking flame mahogany veneer panels. The grand design includes twin pedestal cupboards below two large side surfaces, four good sized drawers across the middle, and a low shaped gallery upstand with a central panel at the back. Raised on short turned feet, the sideboard displays moulded drawer fronts, fielded cupboard panels, and a polished dark wood finish throughout. It measures 122 cm high, 244 cm wide, and 56 cm deep. Suitable for use in a formal dining room or a spacious hallway, this traditional storage piece provides ample room for tableware, linens, and serving accessories. The deep surfaces and enclosed cupboards keep dining essentials organized and easily accessible for hosting meals or displaying decorative items. Placing this substantial mahogany sideboard against a main wall creates a strong architectural focal point while offering functional storage in a traditional interior setting.

A Regency pedestal sideboard is an early 19th-century dining room cabinet consisting of two side pedestal cupboards flanking a central recess or drawer section. The style is characterised by Classical symmetry, low upstand galleries, and rich wood veneers.

These sideboards were predominantly constructed from solid mahogany and decorated with high-figure flame mahogany veneers. Secondary woods such as pine or oak were used for drawer linings and internal framing.

Authentic pieces feature hand-cut dovetail drawer joints, original locks, and natural oxidation on the unvarnished undersides. The symmetry, classical mouldings, turned or reeded legs, and flame mahogany veneers are standard hallmarks of the era.

A Regency sideboard functions well in a contemporary dining room or wide hallway as a focal anchor piece. Pairing it with modern artwork or clean-lined table lamps creates a balanced contrast between historic architecture and modern decor.

Keep the wood away from direct sunlight, central heating vents, and damp environments to prevent veneer lifting. Regular dusting with a soft cloth and occasional application of natural beeswax will protect the original finish.
