A fine quality Regency burr elm cylinder writing desk in the manner of George Bullock.The base having cupboard doors with fluted pilasters below a single drawer. The cylinder top opens to reveal an interior fitted with drawers and pigeon holes and a pull-out leather covered slide.The superstructure has an original mirror back and shelf supported by S scroll brackets with fine ormolu gallery.
Wonderful original colour and patina,the use of burr elm and ebony highlights suggest there is a possibility that the desk may have come from the workshops of George Bullock.English Circa 1820.
