Antique Persian tribal Qashqai kilim, South West Persia.

Circa 1900.

A good Qashqai kilim with very bold eye dazzler design, natural dye colours throughout. Some of the whites are in cotton.

Excellent condition, very slight wear.

Hand washed and ready for use or display.

Qashqai kilims originated from the nomadic Qashqai tribes of Fars province in southwestern Iran. Traditionally woven by women on portable looms, these flatweave carpets were crafted for practical tribal use, including floor coverings, bedding bags, and tent dividers, featuring distinct geometric motifs passed down through generations.
