Quality 19th Century Inlaid Walnut Antique Bonheur Du Jour / Bureau

This Fine French Quality late 19th Century Inlaid Walnut Antique Bonheur Du Jour / Bureau / Ladies Writing Desk dates from ca. 1900, has a decorative brass gallery rail above a ‘bombe’ shaped fall front with brass key escutcheon. The interior has three small drawers, a sliding bible well and the original tooled leather writing insert. This fine antique desk stands on elegant cabriole legs with brass ormolu and it has the most magnificent floral inlays on the top, front and sides. It has aged to a rich warm Walnut shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
