Description
Very smart late 19th.c. French secretaire abattant or writing bureau c.1880. Open the fall to reveal a good sized desk surface (height 26?) with the original leather writing surface and a beautiful birch lined fitted interior with a bookshelf and three small stationery drawers. With a single drawer above the bureau and three drawers below. Symmetrically arranged rosewood veneers to the top, front and sides with extensive brass mouldings. Flanked with a pair of long turned and fluted solid rosewood columns with gilt painted detail to the flutes. Original turned feet, also brass mounted. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Keys supplied. Dimensions: width 29", depth 15", height 55".
