Carse Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The fall has a moulded edge and a mahogany crossbanding. The bureau has 4 graduated long drawers which are oak lined with the base boards going from front to back. The drawers have their original locks and old replacement brass plate handles. The bureau stands on its original bracket feet.

The interior is well laid out with a central cupboard and pigeon holes and drawers to each side, the pigeon holes have their original shaped aprons to the top. The inside has a very pleasing red leather insert for writing on.
The bureau is in good condition for its age and is a nice colour.
