Georgian Style Inlaid Mahogany Bureau Bookcase

Description

Circa 1880 and earlier, Georgian style inlaid mahogany bureau bookcase. With a moulded dentil cornice and satinwood inlaid frieze above two astragal glazed doors, which open to adjustable sliding shelves. The bureau flap with boxwood and chequered inlay opens to an interior with inlaid drawers and pigeonholes and hidden compartments with bellflower pendant and musical instrument inlay. There are 2 short over 3 long cock beaded mahogany lined drawers with brass loop handles, with it all standing moulded bracket feet.
