George III Period Mahogany Bureau

Description

A fine quality George III period mahogany and inlaid bureau. The fall inlaid with chequer stringing, banding and a beautiful oval central panel., the whole standing on ogee bracket feet. Original lock and working key.

The interior, features a central door, with original working lock with key, flanked by concealed pillared secret drawers, a further two long and four short drawers and two secret frieze drawers. Old but replacement handles in original holes.

Size: 41.1/2" at widest point (feet) x 42.1/2" high x 21" deep

Dealers note: This is a wonderful, sophisicated collector's piece from the third quarter of the 18th century that would grace a stately home as every bit a much as well as 21st century new build.
