A substantial George III gentleman's bureau of generous proportions. Constructed from good figured mahogany, this late 18th Century bureau has 4 graduated and cock beaded drawers, each retaining the original brass swan neck handles and escutcheons. The solid mahogany fall opens to reveal a black leather writing surface with a fitted interior which has various pigeon holes and 4 small drawers each with 2 brass pulls. This quality piece of Georgian period furniture has a wonderful original colour and patina and stands on it's original offset shaped bracket feet. Has good oak linings and panelled back throughout and working locks and key. C1790. In overall very good original condition with 1 or 2 bumps & bruises associated with age and use but ready for use in the home or office. Delivery to most of U.K. £75.
