Description

Size: 6ft 11in x 3ft 11in (210 x 119cm).

Old Turkish Konya prayer rug of traditional design copied from a 19th century rug.

Circa 1920/30.

The Konya region is in central Anatolia, this rug is a simple village weaving of minimal form. The rug has very soft hand spun wool and a very floppy handle. All the dyes are natural. The rug has a very soft colour palette, note the traditional lappet design at the ends.

The rug is in excellent condition with slight wear and good pile.

The rug has been hand washed and is ready for use or display. The rug is suitable for normal domestic use.
