This is a lovely quality item, that is full of age, charm and character. A very decorative piece that a tremendous amount of work went into. Amazing rosewood veneered interior with replacement leather writing surface. Lovely patinated ormolu parting beads.
Solid with no loose joints. No woodworm. One of the best that you will find without OTT restoration.
Great age and patina (the best). Splits into two halves for transport (96.5cmH base & 117.5cmH top).
Overall maximum dimensions: 123cm wide, 50cm deep, 214cm high (78cm high writing) surface). Adjustable shelves (108cm, 27.5cm, top; 110cm, 35cm, bottom)...some of the support pegs have been replaced.
No keys and the locks are untested. There is an historic repair to the RHS of the cornice, but it isn't very noticeable. Minor distortion to the cupboard door panels, but the doors themselves are straight (therefore open and close well). Retains much of it's original glass, although a few panes have been replaced historically. Some of the white internal knobs have been replaced. The bottom edge catch on the left hand glazed door is missing, although the top one does the job fine.
