Carse Antiques has dated this piece to the 1700s.

The bureau has a well with two over two drawer configuration below. The drawers with moulded edges, cross banding and inlaid with a holly line. The drawers are all oak lined and have their original steel locks.

The interior of the bureau is really nice. Stepped interior with central cupboard flanked by "book" drawers either side and various drawers and pigeon holes. Shaped aprons to the pigeon holes of which the end two are also drawers.
As to be expected the piece has a few old veneer repairs here and there and there is also old worm damage in places but nothing serious on either count.
