Superb Georgian Oak Bureau Bookcase C1780

Description

This is a superb george 111 original solid oak bureau bookcase and dating form around 1780. Constructed from solid oak it has a cornice top with dental moulding and with mahogany banded frieze with three inlaid fruitwood & ebony shells. There are two panelled doors with inlaid shell to the centre and with three adjustable shelves. The fall front has its original brass lock escutcheon and working key. The top opens to reveal a door to the centre which is mahogany banded and strung with fruitwood and with inlaid shell to the centre. To either side is a fruitwood strung bookend secret drawer and 2 tiers of 'three' small drawers all fowhich are oak lined with original brass handles and with pigeon holes above with shaped frieze. The end frieze being a slide out secret drawer.

Stands on bracket feet and separates for ease of transporting.

An absolutely superb bureau bookcase in excellent original condition. More details on request.
