Georgian Antiques has dated this piece to the 1750s.
The inside surface is all polished. Beneath the top there is a configuration of 4 graduating drawers with a similar escutcheon to that on the flap and cast brass swan neck handles. The drawers have a stylish caddy moulding. Beneath the bottom drawer there is a simple ogee moulding and the bureau stands on tall bracket feet. Good colour and size.
Size 105cm high x 87cm wide x 47cm deep.
