Sold by: Holmes Antiques

An exceptional early 18th centuey figured burr walnut

Bureau of superb colour and surface. Retaining the rather unusual fine quality original handles of the type normally fitted for carrying. The bureau appears to be transitional in period between that of Queen Ann and George 1st. The two drawers above the waist mold are a rare feature that works very well with the piece. The original Oak linings are in lovely clean condition. The stepped interior features concave drawers and molding with a sliding well to the center. The cabinet work is first class.
