A wonderful quality and most impressive George III Chippendale period BUREAU BOOKCASE in superb original condition.

Below the carved and fretwork "Swan-Neck" pediment, the superb 15-pane astragal glazed doors open to reveal adjustable shelves, whilst the bureau below is beautifully fitted with 9 small drawers; pigeonholes and a small central cupboard. Below are four long graduated drawers and it is supported on original bracket feet.

All the linings are of good 'dry' caramel-coloured oak, and the handles throughout, both large and small, are original. 42ins wide; 7ft 11ins high (max). This is 18th century furniture at its best! Thoroughly recommended.
