This Lovely antique has a very unusual serpentine shaped interior, comprising of nine small oak lined drawers with brass handles. There is also a central shaped cupboard door and a unique sliding bible well and early blue tooled leather writing insert. The lower section has four smaller over two longer oak lined cock beaded drawers with period brass handles and beautifully figured fronts that have boxwood string inlay. The sides and top are also beautifully figured and quarter veneered. As the bureau is a genuine piece of antique furniture it has the usual minor old repairs and character marks that you can expect from a piece of this age. It also stands on shaped bracket feet and the Walnut has aged to a pleasant shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
