Description

Fine Quality William 1V Rosewood Secretaire Wellington Chest. The top having square edge with lappet moulded arcade below. The 7 figured drawer fronts below having petal carved knobs with accanthus carved back plates. The second and third drawer fronts are as one and drop down to reveal an interior of 4 pigeon holes with shaped tops over a pair of mahogany fronted drawers one fitted for ink wells. The fall with leather lined writing surface and held, when closed, by brass button clips. Flanked by accanthus carved pillars the righthand one hinged as locking bar, both with central key holes the left hand one a dummy. A further lock behind the locking bar for the secretaire drawer. All on plinth base.

Condition: 2 Knobs need repair, small top corner veneers need replacing and an overall wax polish.
