This very pretty rosewood bureau is a revival of mid 18th century Louis XV style furniture.
To the top is a pierced gilt brass gallery rail and three gilt metal mounted small drawers, over a lovely cylinder front with a delightful oil painted scene of elegant ladies in period dress with lambs amongst architecture and landscape, signed "Chausse"

With a frieze drawer under, having a mechanism which opens the cylinder to reveal a quality fitted interior with an arrangement of three rosewood fronted drawers, with a fold-out leather writing surface. Key to the drawer.

Standing on gilt metal mounted cabriole supports.
The condition is very good antique condition. Painting in very good condition. Lovely mellowed colour to the rosewood. Minor signs of use to the interior.
