Beautifully made, using quarter sawn oak, this antique bureau bookcase was one of Heals most expensively produced pieces of oak furniture.
The top bookcase section has two glazed doors, inside are two oak bookshelves.
In the four drawer bureau base is a drop down writing surface with strorage compartments, paper slots and two slender drawers. There is a central small cupboard which has a working lock and key.
The Heals of London circular ivorine label is inset into the top drawer.
In superb condition throughout, very original, now in Miles Griffiths antiques showrooms in Clitheroe, Lancashire.
