Rare Georgian Painted Pine Bureau

A rare Georgian pine bureau with the original paintwork intact. The bureau is painted to resemble mahogany and has decoration added to simulate inlay, the paintwork has developed a lovely colour and patina. The configuration is typical with three long and two short drawers and a fitted interior. The bureau retains all the original turned wooden handles and bone escutcheons. The bureau is a huge rarity as it stills has the original paint, most period pine has been stripped, the paintwork is in good condition, simply showing wear where it should be, it is untouched and wonderful because of it. C.1820.
